The maker, who goes by oble.dev and describes themselves as a freelancer trying to make apps, built Plano to fill a specific gap. As they put it, habit trackers make you define the habits yourself, while chatbots hand you steps but never check whether you're actually sticking to them. Plano was built to sit between those two.

The hardest part, according to the maker, wasn't the marketing or the launch itself but the generation pipeline—the system that actually builds each plan. They spent long stretches refining it, trying to make it as error-prone as possible in pursuit of something that reliably works. Marketing came after, and by the maker's own account, they weren't sure how to approach it, so they used Plano itself to generate a plan for shipping the launch.
What it took to ship
As the maker's quote makes clear, this was a solo build that took many hours, followed by a launch strategy borrowed from the product's own output. That kind of full-circle use of your own tool is a small detail, but it says something about confidence in what was built.
