yapyap
ProductivityRecords, transcribes, and summarizes meetings locally on your computer, with no cloud or subscription.
by sander boerI got sick and tired of paying subscriptions for everything in my life. So I built the opposite. yapyap is a local‑first voice and meeting recorder that runs on macOS, Windows and Linux. It records audio, transcribes it, and generates searchable transcripts, summaries and action items, all on the user’s computer. The app stores recordings, transcripts and summaries only on the device; nothing is sent to the cloud. A one‑time payment of €69 unlocks the software forever, with no subscription, account or ongoing fees. yapyap includes “lenses” that let the same recording be viewed as minutes, to‑do lists, quote sheets, or any custom format the user defines. A companion phone app can act as a microphone, syncing recordings back to the computer without any internet. The product is aimed at journalists, researchers, interviewers, knowledge workers and teams who need reliable, offline meeting notes and want full ownership of their data.
