Locus Pop
Health & FitnessYour watch had GPS. Your camera didn't. Locus Pop bridges the two.
by Jimmy PenleskyPhotos shot by a race photographer arrive with no location at all, and action cameras can take five minutes to acquire a signal, long enough to miss the start of a run. Locus Pop pulls GPS coordinates from your tracked runs, rides, and races and writes them onto the matching shots in your photo library, using timestamps to line the two up. The app scans your workout history, finds media captured during each activity, and plots it along the route so you can see exactly where every shot was taken. A nudge tool lets you slide a photo forward or back along the path, and you can group media by camera to move them together while keeping their relative spacing. If timestamps don't line up, add any photo or video by hand and the app assigns both coordinates and a corrected timestamp. Everything runs on your device. The free version matches media from your last month of workouts. A one-time purchase unlocks your full history. Your photos and video finally show up where they belong, on the map and in your memories.
