The alarm uses time‑sensitive and critical notifications, so it cuts through Silent mode and Do Not Disturb on your phone. You set a spot, define the wind range, and the app watches the station around the clock, ringing only when the conditions match. WindUp is built for wind‑driven outdoor activities such as kitesurfing, sailing, windsurfing, wing foiling, paragliding, drone piloting and other enthusiasts who need an immediate cue from the wind rather than a forecast. Additional features include live tide information, home‑screen widgets, a world map of stations, dark mode, and AI‑powered hyper‑local forecasts. The core alarm is free; a paid Pro tier adds extra tools like live tides.
