Clarus
Open SourceA Firefox‑engine browser for Android with gestures, visual history, and a glass tab tray.
by AvGDeVClarus is an independent Android browser built on Firefox's engine. It is not affiliated with Mozilla and is offered as an open‑source project on GitHub. The browser adds several user‑focused features: Hold to Peek lets you press and hold a link to see a live, scrollable preview and swipe to open, pin, or share; Sidus Trail visualizes your browsing history as a map of nodes; a glass tab tray presents tabs with a frosted look; and Clarus Theater provides a dedicated media player for audio and video with configurable fullscreen behavior. Clarus is a lightweight app with no sign‑in, sync, or VPN components. Privacy settings default to telemetry off and crash reporting disabled, and normal browsing traffic follows standard routes. The app’s source includes a privacy policy that details its data handling. The browser is distributed as an APK (currently tested on arm64‑v8a devices). Users can download it from the Releases page, verify the SHA‑256 checksum, and install it manually. The full source code and build instructions are available in the GitHub repository.
